CHILDRENS´  HORSE CAMP

We arrange childrens´horse camps on our farm in the summer time from 20 / 6 till 20 / 8, in the autumn holiday, the Christmas holiday, the winter holiday and in the Easter holiday.

Children between 10 and 16 years of age can participate, staying on the farm alone or together with their parents. We also accept younger children, if parent (s) stay on the farm with them.

We have self household apartment, cabin or camping room for rent for parents / families. For prices, see Lodging

The children normally stay in 4- bed – rooms, double or single rooms are available, but will be charged with extra cost. There are pillows and blankets in all beds, but the children must bring their own bedclothes or sleeping bag.
Food  is included in the price.

During camp time the children participate in theoretical and practical lessons, and practical demonstrations.

Most important for us is teaching general safety rules for handling horses, both theoretically and practically.

The children will learn about and experience the following during camp time:

• How to handle and keep a horse
• Riding:  The children will be grouped according to their skills so that everyone get appropriate training according to their level.

• Rides in the forest with adult guides
• Driving with wagons or sledges together with adult guides
• How to use a pack horse
• Producing carpets of felt by using horses
• Driving timber with horses
• Training fillies and young horses

Most of the children are of course Norwegians, but we welcome children from other countries very much.

Socially Norwegian children are able to communicate in English, and extra lessons and instructions can be given in the following languages:  English   German   Finnish.

Arrival:  Sundays      Departure:  Fridays          ( Other times for arrival / departure can be arranged , and it is also possible to order shorter stays)
